Unmatched Educational Qualifications, Unique Capacity to Build Rigerous and Authentic Experiential Learning Experiences
ETC is an industry leader in so many ways - for the institutions we partner with, there is one quality we offer that is resoundingly the reason our partnerships are both enduring and growing - the quality of our team of experienced, elite global educators means that we can partner with schools, universities, and other institutions to offer a level of quality in terms of both experiential learning and collaboration that is simply unmatched in the industry. We would love to build something exceptional with you.
A Cross-Curricular Team of Elite Educators
Authentic Experiential Learning By Design
Invaluable thought leaders and partners who are experienced on the road and in the classroom.
ETC is unique in many ways, but in the space of working with schools, the number one thing that sets us apart is the quality and capacity of our team. Across our team of members, advisors, and consultants, we have experienced educators, school leaders, admissions personnel, counselors, and coaches who excel at creating meaningful and engaging learning experiences. We are prepared to collaborate with individual subject areas, divisional teams, or whole school committees to articulate the goals of an experiential learning opportunity. Much more importantly - we are equipped to make it happen. We can be your thought partners or thought leaders - and are much more than a travel company.
Schools and teachers understand learning outcomes - we translate, connect, and expand upon these on a global scale.
Backward planning and UBD are central to the work of teachers and professors in the world's top classrooms, driving student achievement as well as the real-world applicability and intentionality of learning. However, all too often, educational institutions fail to apply this logic to their experiential learning programs, choosing vendors or locations instead of curricularly aligned learning opportunities. We can work with you to build programs that align with your needs - maximizing the transformative potential of experiential learning for your students, your academic program, and your community.
Extending and Connecting the Curriculum
Institutional Travel Meets Elite Academic Collaboration
Schools and institutions balance extraordinarily complex sets of priorities, and experiential learning is a unique opportunity to fill in gaps in classroom curricula. Our team of world-leading educators with experience across content areas and curricula are both ready and uniquely capable of collaborating with you to maximize the distinct value of experiential learning. In addition to organizing flights, itineraries, and learning in the field, we are capable of and equipped to teach pre and post-departure lessons in collaboration with uniquely talented academics, our elite team, and your institution's educational assets. Our parent feedback is resoundingly clear - the learning opportunities we build with our partner institutions a league apart from what other vendors offer. With us, you don't just get an experiential learning vendor, you get a capable, passionate team of collaborators.
Building Coherent Programs
Articulated, Outcome Driven Experiential Learning
While many of our partner schools begin their relationships with us by building one or two experiential learning opportunities, we have the experience and capacity to build full, vertically articulated, standards-driven experiential learning programs. Whether you are expanding student and community capacity around academics, service, athletics, or all of the above, we love seeing individual students (as well as school communities) grow. From building communities of trekkers and outdoor enthusiasts in the Caribbean to building comprehensive understandings of divergent models of global economic, political, cultural, and ecological development on a regional or global stage, we have done this work with schools, and we are deeply enthusiastic about joining you on your experiential learning journey.
The Difference in Our Work Speaks for Itself
Collaborative members are on every inhabited continent - we are passionate about building itineraries to meet our partners' unique needs. And - we take pride in what we have done in the past and continue to offer institutions. Take a look. You won't find anything like it on the market. We look forward to working with you to build an experiential learning opportunity that is customized to perfectly meet your needs.
Rwanda
Reconciliation, biological and ecological regeneration, and international law. Our travelers trek, canoe, safari, and meander their way through this country - prepared to engage by intensive pre-departure learning around colonialism, the 1994 genocide, and post-travel learning with global thought leaders from the International Court of Justice around the continued difficulty of implementing and enforcing international law. Our unique partnership with Akagera National Park allows our students to go beyond learning about the conflict to build understandings of the ecological calamity that came with the 1994 war, and the difficulties and successes of ecological and economic recovery. Learners around the world are desperate to engage in some of the world's most pressing questions - what is right, what is wrong, what happens when nations or individuals do wrong, and why wrongdoers are sometimes unpunished. Our work in Rwanda allows our travelers to engage deeply and meaningfully in engaging with these pressing questions.
Cuba, Haiti, and the DR
The artistic, linguistic, and cultural heritage of the Caribbean offers a rich tapestry for our travelers to engage with as they explore some of the most politically, economically, racially, and ecologically diverse corners of the Western hemisphere. We run a variety of itineraries for schools and universities through these nations in which our learners engage with questions around national identity, colonial legacy, immigration, visual and musical arts, conservation, development, and implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Our US government-approved programs in this extraordinarily rich part of the world allow us to build authentic learning, conversation, and collaboration around diverse learning goals aligning with some of the world's most pressing questions.
Palestine, Israel, and the Levant
The enduring moral failure of our time. The lack of resolution between Palestine and Israel, and, over the past years, the escalation of hostility and war crimes surrounding the occupation of Palestine, defines the world in which we live. Our teams on the ground in Bethlehem, Tel Aviv, and Jerusalem can bring this region to life for our travelers. Helping young people explore this conflict, this region, and this cradle of humanity is central to the story of how ETC came to exist. We build programs ranging from one week to 10 weeks for schools in the US and abroad, as well as top educational institutions. As the situation on the ground evolves, many think this region is inaccessible - but through our collaboration with intelligence agencies, governments, and the top educational institutions globally and regionally, we have the capacity to enable safe, engaging, and meaningful inquiry in the region. No part of the world is more important for future leaders to understand than Palestine, Israel, and their neighbors.

The Balkans
The Balkans, with its mix of Western and Eastern European cultures, offers insights into complex histories, from the Ottoman Empire to the Yugoslav Wars, fostering empathy and a deeper understanding of global awareness. Our teams in Serbia, Montenegro, Albania, and Kosovo are a vital part of ETC. Through engagement with local communities, students can practice intercultural communication, build adaptability, and gain a more nuanced view of the world. The region’s stunning natural landscapes, from Adriatic coastlines to mountainous national parks, also provide a great experiential playground for physical activity and exploration. For young travelers, the Balkans encourage curiosity, build confidence, and instill a sense of responsibility in how travelers interact with different cultures and environments, and build understandings of, and engagements with, the world around them.
